Recipe Box & Blog Candy Fun!

Hello everyone! As promised, it is time for my first blog candy contest! But first, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to be more organized and to lose weight. In order to begin both of those goals, I bought a wooden box from A.C. Moore in the hopes of creating a recipe box. Here is a picture of the box:

Then I bought the recipe kit from Close To My Heart. It is found in the card kits and uses the paper Let's Get Together. The kit comes with recipe cards, cardstock dividers and a sheet of matching stckers. I altered the box to look like this:

All the goodies:
Now, onto the blog candy! Now that I have 50 recipe cards, I need reciped to fill them up! So, anyone who sends me a recipe (low fat, healthy etc.) is automatically entered to win - drum roll please- CTMH's March Stamp of the Month!!! Check the side for the link to see the stamp set. It is called Butterfly Wings and it is beautiful! As a bonus, if you include the nutrition (calories, fat grams, carbs and protein), your name will be entered twice!

The contest will run from March 1st to March 7th. I will pick a winner on the 8th. You can post your recipe here or e-mail it directly to me at jabe6126@optonline.net. Thanks everyone for helping me out!

Have a great night and I look forward to getting all those yummy recipes!

Riley's Book

So I finished the next two pages for baby Riley's book. The theme of these two pages is the "grandparents" I figured since she is the first grandchild on both sides of the family, there will be lots of pictures!!

Here are the two layouts together-

Here is a close up of the left side- I used my Cricut to cut the letters and found some embellishments at my local scrapbook store-

Here is a close up of the right side- I used CTMH's Flower Children stamp set for the baby in the flower, colored it in using CTMH markers and the paper is Life Delights. I love the color combos in this pack!

OK- gotta go- off to pick up the kids, run to the gym, make dinner and get to my SU party!

Have a great day!

Jean

Happy Friday!! What a beautiful day it is here in NY! Jack and I have been out and running around in the backyard, enjoying the nice weather!

I have a few things I'm working on right now and will hopefully be able to post this weekend sometime. I'm going to a SU party tonight and I'm really looking forward to being able to sit and relax and have someone else be in charge. I can't wait to see the project(s) we make.

Be back later- I'll also post some details about my upcoming blog candy contest.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Hi everyone! So I may have mentioned that my cousin recently had a beautiful baby girl named Riley! One of the projects I'm working on is making a book for Riley's first year. I tend to work slowly so I've only completed a few pages but I thought I would share them here.

Here is the first page. I made it using CTMH's Creative Basics Emporium Paper and the letters, flower and tag was all made with my NEW Cricut (gotta love it!)

Here is the second page - it is actually the first side of a two page layout. Again I used CTMH's Emporium Paper and the small Friendship Alphabet stamp set.

Here is the second page of that layout!

I made the buttons using clear buttons and attaching them on the B&T paper using Liquid Glass. I love how I can make them exactly match the paper I'm working with!

OK- that's all for now! I hope she likes the layouts!

Also- be on the lookout for my first blog candy contest in March!

Have a wonderful day!

Enchanted Lily

So I've added a blinkie of this adorable Enchanted Lily! While I LOVE CTMH"s clear, acrylic stamps, I've decided that I also love these adorable Lily stamps from Pink Cat Studio. I just ordered the Enchanted Lily and Lily stamp sets so be on the lookout for some cards and layouts made with Lily (just perfect for Emily layouts!!)

Thanks for looking!

Whew!

So I've been playing around with this blog and have lost info and changed things. It's getting so late now that I think I need to sleep on it and try again tomorrow!!

Good night!

Feb. Layout

Hi all- so thanks for the comments! I appreciate people taking the time to check out my stuff!

Here is the layout we made for the February workshop. We made a shaker box to go right on the layout. We used liquid glass to seal the edges of the shaker box and we used That's Amore paper from Close To My Heart. Hope you like it!

A better view of the snowmen!

Here is a clearer picture of the snowmen!

My January layout-

Here is the layout we made for January- I will post Feb.'s later today. We used the dryer sheet technique to make the glittery soft snowmen!
For this technique- we stamped the snowmen onto the white cardstock, colored them in using CTMH markers, sprayed adhsive over them and covered the snowmen with a ryer sheet (gently used). The we used CTMH's Prisma Glitter to add the sparkly effect to the dryer sheet! Hope you like it!
Sorry the picture is not great!
